Dr. Ravi Rao is an interventional cardiologist who specializes in the innovative therapies to relieve blockages in the heart and blood vessels throughout the body. His primary interests are in advanced peripheral vascular procedures such as endovascular aneurysm repairs and transradial coronary interventions.
Dr. Ravi Rao started his education at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL where he received his Bachelors in Science and his Medical Degree. His education continued at Brown University in Rhode Island for Cardiology training and commenced at Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard University for his Interventional Cardiology fellowship. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology and Vascular Ultrasound.
Dr. Ravi Rao derives great personal satisfaction from educating his patients and medical personnel regarding prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Along with his brother, Dr. Surya Rao, he saw a need and an opportunity to bring state of the art cardiac care to patients in north Brevard County. He believes in community involvement and is active in multiple local organizations. Dr. Ravi Rao believes that his professional and personal life goals are coexistent and centered around serving the needs of the people of Brevard County. Dr. Ravi Rao’s family includes his loving wife and partner Sudha Talluri-Rao and two beautiful daughters, Shanti and Meera Rao.

Dr. Surya Rao is an invasive cardiologist who specializes in the treatment of heart failure and implantation of various cardiac “devices”. Included in his skill set are radial cardiac catheterizations, automatic implantable cardiac defibrillators (AICD’s), permanent pacemakers, cardiac resynchronization therapy devices, and loop recorders.
Dr. Surya Rao was raised in the Chicago, IL area where he received all his formal education and medical training. He received his undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and his medical degree from Loyola University. He completed his cardiology fellowship with an extra year of device training at Lutheran General Hospital.
The opportunity to start a comprehensive cardiovascular practice in a smaller town with his younger brother, Dr. Ravi Rao, who is an interventional cardiologist, brought Dr.Surya Rao to Brevard County. He is happily married to Mary Rao and has three lovely daughters – Lakshmi, Anila, and Sree.

Amanda Ryan, DO, is an interventional cardiologist who specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of atherosclerosis. She has a particular interest in women’s cardiovascular health. Dr. Ryan started her education at a private liberal arts college in Naperville, IL – North Central College graduating in 1998. She received her doctor of osteopathic medicine degree in 2003 at Kansas City University of BioMedical Sciences in Kansas City, MO. Dr. Ryan then completed her internal medicine residency and served as chief medicine resident at St.Louis University Hospital in St.Louis, MO. Her cardiology and interventional cardiology training were completed at Largo Medical Center through Nova Southeastern Medical School in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 2011.
Dr. Ryan is originally from central Illinois, having grown up in a small farming community. Her career goals have always included bringing top quality, cutting edge cardiovascular care to people in a small town. Heart Care Centers of Florida in Titusville provided the perfect opportunity for Dr. Ryan to fulfill these goals. Her skill set includes cardiac and peripheral interventional procedures. She and her husband, Josh, relocated from Largo, FL to Titusville and are enjoying their new practice, home, and community. Dr. Ryan sees patients in Titusville and Rockledge.

Amie Tarantola, ARNP-BC is a certified nurse practitioner with over thirty years of experience in the nursing field. Ms. Tarantola brought to Heart Care Centers of Florida a unique background that encompassed staff nursing, administrative roles, directorships, and advanced practitioner positions.
Ms. Tarantola’s formal education began with a nursing diploma from Burbank Hospital School of Nursing in 1982, followed by a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from University of West Florida in 1988. Amie then received a Masters of Science in Health Care Management from Florida Institute of Technology in 1997. Amie became an advanced level practitioner with completion of Masters of Nursing, FNP/SNP in 2004 from Florida Atlantic University.
Amie Tarantola’s main interests include developing congestive heart failure patient education programs and improving the overall delivery of cardiovascular care to patients. She maintains current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International since 2004, and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Amie and her family reside in the Viera area and in her free time, she enjoys cheering on the Florida Gator football team with her husband, Chuck.
